Info Sought in Mary Esther Robbery

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Hispanic man who robbed an elderly Fort Walton Beach couple of a large amount of cash. The 85-year old husband and his 78-year old wife were followed out of the Food World on Mary Esther Boulevard around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, October 22. They say the Hispanic male talked to them briefly in the parking lot, then snatched an envelope of money out of the husband’s hand. The individual got into a mid-size, four door white car and headed east on Mary Esther Boulevard.

He is described as dark-skinned with black hair and broad shoulders. He is between 5’4" and 5’7" tall and was wearing a green/blue shirt with a white shirt underneath, blue or black shorts, and flip flops.

State Fire Marshal Investigating North Okaloosa Fires

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating structure fires that occurred from May through July in north Okaloosa County. The fires occurred in the areas of Highway 2, Highway 85 N, 3rd Avenue, and Pate Road in Laurel Hill; and Poverty Creek, and Antioch Road in Crestview.

Suspicious Fire Investigation in Auburn Community

The State Fire Marshall’s Office and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious fire that took place at the rural home of an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy in the Auburn Community around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, August 7.

The deputy says he was awoken by his four-year old boxer. When he looked out of the window he saw flames. He then ran back, grabbed his four-year old daughter and got out her out of the burning home. He went back in to get his dog and they escaped through a window. No one was injured.

Another deputy who had arrived at the home had attempted to use his fire extinguisher and water hoses to contain the blaze. The North Okaloosa Fire Department arrived to put out the fire.

Niceville Bank Robbery Suspect

The Niceville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed the Coastal Bank and Trust located at 1001 E. John Sims Parkway in Niceville on December 1.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., a white male suspect entered the bank through the front doors and demanded money from a teller. The teller gave the suspect and undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled in an unknown type vehicle.

Crestview Fill-Ups Food Store Robbery

On August 4 at approximately 10:26 p.m., the Crestview Police Depatment responded tot he Fill-Ups Food Store located at 510 North Ferdon Boulevard in reference to a robbery. The suspect entered the store via the north side entrance and approached the counter and demanded money from the register. The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 5`3" tall, 150 pounds and was wearing a black baseball cap, a purple shirt with a distinct white design on the back, light colored blue jeans and white shoes. Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed the Cash Register Insurance Company located at 250 N. Eglin Parkway on July 23. At approximately 3:05 p.m., a while male suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect is described as a heavyset white male with a full beard and mustache. He had a cast or wrap on his right arm and was wearing a light colored t-shirt, blue and red plaid shorts, white tennis shoes and a black baseball cap with a distinct white logo.

Crestview Bank Robber

The Crestview Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed the Coastal Bank and Trust located 2150 South Ferdon Boulevard in Crestview on July 13. At approx. 12 noon a white male suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot towards Publix. The suspect is described as a 30-35 year old white male, about 5’9” and 200 pounds. He was wearing a green shirt, khaki cargo pants, and possibly a camouflage hat. The suspect also had a dark-colored booklet or folder.

Attempted Robbery

Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff`s Office are asking fpr the public`s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob the Tom Thumb Fodd Store locaated at 1605 Florence Avenue on April 21. At approximately 1:55 a.m. a white male suspect entered the store and attempted to rob the clerk with a box cutter. The clerk dialed 911 and the suspect fled the store without taking any money. The suspect is described as a tall, thin, white male, in his early 30’s, with reddish-brown hair.

Robbery Suspect Sought

At approximately 11:00 p.m. a heavyset black male snatched the victim’s purse and fled west through the complex. The suspect was approximately 6’4”, possibly had facial hair and was wearing plaid shorts and a dark colored sweatshirt.

Convenience Store Robbery

Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward to the anonymous caller who helps the Okaloosa County Sheriff`s Office identify the man that robbed the Fill-Ups Food Store located at 618 North Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach on February 16. At approximately 10:00 p.m. a Hispanic male entered the store and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then left the store headed south on foot. The suspect did not display a weapon during this incident. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-thirties with a medium complexion, approximately 5`6" to 5`8" tall. The suspect`s dark hair was short and spiked and he had pronounced cheek bones.He was wearing a red t-shirt, which stretched well below his waist band, dark pants, and white tennis shoes.

Mary Esther Convenience Store Robber Sought

Miracle Strip Parkway in Mary Esther on Monday, February 4. At approximately 1:00 p.m. a white male entered the store and approached the counter. He then handed the clerk a piece of paper with writing on it and when the clerk asked the suspect what it said he demanded all the money in the cash register. The suspect then fled east on foot headed towards Christobal Road. The suspect did not display a weapon during this incident. The suspect is described as a white male with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white polo short with blue stripes. Liquor Store Robbers Sought

Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps investigators find the two men who robbed SFM Liquors located at 251 Mary Esther Boulevard on Thursday, January 24. At approximately 8:30 p.m. two black males entered the store wearing dark colored hooded jackets and skull masks. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded the clerk open the register while the other walked around the store. The first suspect then grabbed money from the cash register while the other took several bottles of liquor. Both suspects then fled north along the shopping center on foot. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspects are described as two average built black males in their twenties, approximately 5’8” and 5’11”.

Crestview Convenience Store Robbery
October 31, 2007

On Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at approximately 9:44 PM, the Crestview Police Departmen investigated an alleged armed robbery at Tom Thumb #56 located at 438 West James Lee Blvd. According to information obtained from the clerk on duty, the suspect entered the store and approached the counter where he produced a hand written note demanding all the money. The clerk complied and then the suspect fled behind the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5`8" tall, 170 pounds and approximately 23-28 years of age. The suspect was wearing camoflauge pants and a green hooded jacket. The suspect`s face was partially covered but he appreared to have blonde or red facial hair. Subway Attempted Robbery
August 27, 2007

Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward to an anonymous caller who helps investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office identify two teenage male suspects who attempted to rob the Subway located at 1261 North Eglin Parkway in Shalimar. At approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 27 two teenage black males, wearing black bandanas covering their faces, entered the store and displayed a handgun, demanding money from the clerk. The suspects eventually fled the store on foot in an unknown direction after several failed attempts to get money. Both black male suspects were described as approximately 15 to 16 years old. The gunman was described as 5’10”-5’11”, with a thin build, wearing a red urban style shirt with jeans shorts and was carrying a dark colored backpack. The second black male suspect was wearing a black colored urban style shirt with dark colored pants.

Investigators Seek Rape Suspect
July 17, 2007

The Okaloosa County Sheriff`s Office is investigating a report that a Fort Walton Beach woman was kidnapped from a store on Mary Esther Boulevard July 17th and later raped in a secluded area. The woman says she got into her blue, 1994 Chevy Blazer at the Sun Plaza Shopping Center around 6 or 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17th and was accosted by a man in the back seat. She says he forced her to drive around for a while before making her get into the back seat. They then stopped on a dirt road, in a secluded wooded area where she was raped. The victim says the man got in her car and drove off, but returned about ten minutes later. He made her drive him to a spot on Lewis Turner Boulevard where he got out of the car and walked away. The victim drove to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. The suspect is described as a while male in his mid-to-early forties. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket, a knitted cap and black pants. Covenience Store Robbery
July 12, 2007

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the armed robbery of the Fill-Ups gas station at 4580 East Highway 20 in Niceville. The clerk says two men came in the store around 3:30 Friday morning and robbed him at gunpoint.

Both men wore clothing that covered their bodies from head to toe, as well as plastic or latex gloves. After stealing cash from the register, they made the clerk get on the floor and then left.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 5’10 to 6’ tall, 180 pounds, wearing a maroon hooded jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, light blue jeans, dark colored boots and a dark colored bandana over his face. The second suspect was approximately the same height, around 200 pounds, wearing black jeans, a navy blue long sleeve shirt, dark colored bandana over his face and a dark colored head covering.

Information Sought in Crestview Homicide
January 06, 2006

Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward to an anonymous caller who provides information that helps the Crestview Police Department with a homicide investigation.

On January 6, 2006, the murdered body of Melissa Howard was found in her residence. There appears to have been a struggle and some items were stolen from the residence. The Associate Medical Examiner Cameron Snider said Howard was repeatedly stabbed in the neck and showed signs of blunt force trauma to her head.
